Who we are...

Riding for Disabled Capricorn is one of eight Western Australian RDA centres that are affiliated with the internationally recognised Riding for Disabled Association Australia.

The RDA Capricorn team is focussed on our riders, from the new riders who have just found us, to those who have ridden with us since we were located in Floreat at Bold Park.

RDA Capricorn was the first centre for disabled riding to be established in WA and RDA Capricorn was founded in 1972 and this year leads the celebrations of RDA's Western Australia 50th Birthday.

The committee, coaches, volunteers and riders continue this long and proud history of supporting horse riding for those with disabilities in whatever shape or form that may take.

How our programs help...

Horse Riding is a natural reflex inhibiting position which helps improve balance and posture providing a unique form of exercise and rehabilitation.

Riding offers an element of risk, often denied to many people, especially those who may have been affected by an accident or serious illness and offers them the chance to regain mobility and a sense of achievement.

People with congenital disabilities discover a new freedom in movement.  Those with progressive diseases can retain mobility and activity longer.
