RIDING LESSONS

Riding Lessons

We offer RDA Riding Lessons each Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday during the school terms.  Riders are placed in lessons that are appropriate to their riding experience, age and horse availability.  Some riders will progress faster than others, and that is fine.  At RDA Capricorn we focus on each individual riders' needs and plan.

Regular lesson times are offered to new riders as they become available, so get on our waiting list early to assist in finding a lesson time that suits.  At times, we may be able to offer a trial lesson for those who are unsure if this is an activity that they would enjoy.

We also appreciate you letting us know if you no longer wish to remain on the waiting list.

Requirement for Riding

  • Riders must be four (4) years and older
  • New Riders must be 90kg or less
  • Saturday lessons are for children only and once they leave school, they will be moved to one of the weekday sessions.

Paper Work & Costs

  • All riders are required to complete annual registration paperwork in February each year.

  • Rider medical forms (to be completed by medical professionals) are required for all new riders and then every three (3) years after that.  Without these forms, riders cannot participate in lessons.

  • Annual Insurance for Riders in 2024 is $130 per rider and is required to be paid BEFORE any lessons commence at the start of the year.

  • Riding Lesson costs vary depending upon Rider funding through NDIS and other programmes.  Please contact the office to discuss your particular circumstances.
